Spring is around the corner and we're planning for the spring trek to the north. Walleye season opens on May 19 and we're hoping that the mushrooms will be popping too.
Last year the weather was perfect for a bumper crop of mushrooms.
But remember, you're not the only "hunter" in the bush --we were "fortunate" to catch a quick snapshot of bears as we hunted for mushrooms. Always be mindful of where you are and above all, stay away from cubs or in their path if you see them in the bush. Mama bear is nearby.
We also had the excitement of seeing a golden eagle in the bush. Word is, they're coming around this area to nest.
